What is The eXp Mentor Program?
The Mentor Program offers freshly licensed agents a mentor and a way to acquire the skills necessary to launch and develop a successful real estate career. Each new agent gets paired with a more seasoned agent in the same region who has completed the Mentor Program certification requirements.
What Happens After You Get Paired?
After you get paired with a mentor, your real estate license gets transferred to eXp Realty. You can rely on every mentor chosen by eXp because everyone is certified and authorized by the State Broker Team. By this time, they must’ve already verified their expertise in the real estate industry.
After being matched with a mentor, you have 90 days to finish the online course. Under a mentor’s guidance, you will receive practical advice and guidance through every step of your first few deals and transactions. In addition, you will learn all the basics of real estate in a ten-module course on eXp’s learning management system.
Who is A Certified eXp Mentor?
Every mentor at eXp Realty is passionate about real estate and helping up-and-coming agents establish themselves in the industry.
To be certified, mentors must apply for and pass eXp Realty’s mentor certification process. By doing so, they commit to assisting new eXp realty agents in gaining the foundational skills required to succeed in the real estate industry.
Certified eXp Realty Mentor Requirements
Furthermore, every mentor must meet the following conditions before being certified by the State Broker Team:
- They must close eight real estate deals in the previous 12 months.
- They must have completed at least two eXp Realty system transactions before applying.
- They must attend at least 8 of the 12 monthly Mentor Mastermind Workshops at eXp World.
- They must attend at least 50% of their state meetings.
Every certified mentor will stay in touch using various media after accepting your request. They will discuss the workflow, goals, and expectations with you as soon as your request is approved.
Moreover, your mentor will receive 10% of your commission for each of your first three closed sales deals. If you decide that you can’t work well with the mentor assigned to you, you can always request a reassignment.
How Does the Mentor Program Operate for Teams?
Self-organized Teams
You may be exempt from the mentor program if you’re in a self-organized team and your team leader is a certified mentor. The team leader can request your withdrawal.
Standard and ICON Teams
Most eXp realty agents are exempt from the Mentor Program in a Standard or Mega ICON team. Contact the Onboarding Team to finish the necessary team documents if eXp added you to the Mentor Program.
You will get removed from the Mentor Program as soon as the team documents are in eXp Enterprise.
However, in Maine, North Carolina, and New York, you cannot be excused from the mentor program unless the team leaders are certified.
Domestic Teams
If a primary agent for a domestic team has less than three home transactions in the past 12 months, they must complete the Mentor Program within their first year. Since the Mentor Program does not apply to secondary agents, they can request a withdrawal if the company adds them accidentally.
